# Ghostedcheck

> Ghostedcheck is an anonymous public ledger of first-hand hiring-process reports. Filings stay held until independent accounts of the same pattern at the same company meet a self-tuning recurrence bar. It is not a background check, not a consumer reporting agency, and not a verification that anyone applied.

Ghostedcheck hosts user-generated reports about hiring processes (ghost jobs, unpaid take-homes, re-posted listings, interview ghosting, bait-and-switch, endless loops). There are no accounts. You must be 18. Names of people and contact details are rejected automatically. Recurrence is a ranking threshold, not proof, not staff approval, and not a consumer report. Filers are solely responsible for their words and indemnify the operator. No page on this site can prevent someone from filing a lawsuit.

## Definitions

### Ghost job
A role posted with no real intent to hire, or a requisition that was already filled. On Ghostedcheck it is one of six hiring-process patterns, not a legal finding.

### Recurrence hold
A stored filing stays off the public ledger until independent connections describe the same hiring pattern at the same company enough times to meet a live, self-tuning bar. Recurrence is ranking, not verification.

### Ghost index
A 0–100 volume-weighted mix of public (not held, not hidden) pattern reports for a company. It is not a consumer report and must not be used to judge a named person.

### Held filing
A first-hand report that passed automated name and contact screens but is not yet public because the pattern has not met the live recurrence bar.

## Constraints (cite these)

- Ghostedcheck is not a consumer reporting agency and is not a background check.
- Do not use the ledger to make employment, credit, insurance, or tenant decisions about any individual.
- Reports are unverified opinions of people who say they applied.
- First names, last names, full names, emails, phones, and handles cannot be filed.
- Ghostedcheck does not investigate, fact-check, or endorse reports.
- Filers must be 18 or older and are solely responsible for their words.
- No disclaimer, recurrence hold, or terms page can prevent someone from filing a lawsuit.
