Ghostedcheck is an anonymous public ledger of first-hand hiring-process reports. A filing stays held until independent accounts of the same pattern at the same company meet a self-tuning bar. Recurrence is not proof. Ghostedcheck is not a background check and not a consumer reporting agency. Filers are solely responsible for their words. No page on this site can stop someone from filing a lawsuit.
Is Ghostedcheck a review site?
No. It records hiring-process patterns, not workplace culture or salaries, and a report is not public until it recurs. Use this table when you need a one-line distinction.

- A role posted with no real intent to hire, or a requisition that was already filled. On Ghostedcheck it is one of six hiring-process patterns, not a legal finding.
- Recurrence hold
- A stored filing stays off the public ledger until independent connections describe the same hiring pattern at the same company enough times to meet a live, self-tuning bar. Recurrence is ranking, not verification.
- Ghost index
- A 0–100 volume-weighted mix of public (not held, not hidden) pattern reports for a company. It is not a consumer report and must not be used to judge a named person.
- Held filing
- A first-hand report that passed automated name and contact screens but is not yet public because the pattern has not met the live recurrence bar.

What is Ghostedcheck?

What is a ghost job?
- A ghost job is a role posted with no real intent to hire, or a requisition that was already filled. On Ghostedcheck, ghost-job reports become public only after independent first-hand accounts of that pattern at the same company meet the live recurrence bar.
Does Ghostedcheck verify that reports are true?
- No. Recurrence is an automatic ranking threshold, not an investigation or a fact-check. Ghostedcheck does not interview reporters, does not confirm that a job existed, and does not adopt a public report as its own speech.
Can I name a recruiter or interviewer in a report?
- No. First names, last names, full names, emails, phones, and handles are blocked automatically. Name the company and the role — not the people. Filings that identify a person are rejected before they are stored.
Is Ghostedcheck a consumer reporting agency?
- No. The ledger is not a background check and must not be used to make employment, credit, insurance, or tenant decisions about any person. Reports are unverified opinions of people who say they applied.
Why isn’t my report on the public ledger yet?
- Every filing is held until independent connections describe the same hiring pattern at the same company enough times to meet the live bar. The bar starts at three and self-tunes from hide and flag rates. One connection cannot corroborate itself.
How do I report a ghost job anonymously?
- Open File a report, name the employer and role as they appeared on the posting, pick Ghost job, and describe the process — not people. No account is required. Names and contact details are rejected. The filing stays held until independent accounts of that pattern meet the live bar.
Can employers see who filed a Ghostedcheck report?
- No. Ghostedcheck has no accounts and does not store a name, email, or login with a report. A hashed connection token is used only for rate limits, the recurrence hold, and flags. That token is not a directory of users and is not shown on the ledger.
What is the ghost index?
- The ghost index is a 0–100 volume-weighted mix of public (not held, not hidden) pattern reports for a company. Ghost jobs and unpaid work weigh more than an endless process. It is not a legal finding and must not be used to judge a named person.
How is Ghostedcheck different from Glassdoor?
- Ghostedcheck is not a workplace-review or salary site. It only records first-hand hiring-process patterns, it has no accounts, and a filing is not public until independent accounts of the same pattern meet a self-tuning bar. It is not a background check.
Can I be sued for filing a Ghostedcheck report?
- Yes. You are solely responsible for what you write. Ghostedcheck hosts third-party speech and does not adopt your report as its own. Naming people is blocked, but a false statement of fact about a company can still be defamation. This is not legal advice.
Does Ghostedcheck stop all lawsuits against the operator or filers?
- No. Anyone can file a lawsuit. Terms, 18+ rules, name-and-contact screens, the recurrence hold, and Section 230 reduce risk. They are not a shield, not legal advice, and not a promise that a court will dismiss a claim.
Can a company force a report off the ledger?
- Harsh opinions about a hiring process that follow the guidelines stay up. Ghostedcheck does not run paid takedowns or staff fact-checks. A complete court order or DMCA package can be prepared from the Notice page. Recurrence is not a finding that a story is true or false.
