Legal request package
These pages describe how this product works. They are not legal advice. If you need advice, speak with a lawyer licensed where you live. Last updated 14 September 2026.
Use this page to assemble a complete court order, copyright notice, or company demand about a specific Ghostedcheck report. Copy the package. Do not paste it into a community flag, and do not send reporter identity — Ghostedcheck does not have it.
This application does not operate a monitored legal-intake mailbox and does not store legal-notice PII in the ledger. A production operator must publish a dedicated address before treating this page as a statutory notice channel under 17 U.S.C. § 512 or any similar law. Completing the checklist does not by itself remove a report.
What Ghostedcheck will not do
- Staff-fact-check a hiring story, or adopt it as Ghostedcheck’s speech.
- Sell a takedown, a claimed profile, or a verified company reply.
- Identify a filer. There are no accounts.
- Treat a disagreement with a lawful opinion about a process as a reason to un-list it.
Court orders
If a court has directed removal of a specific report, the package must include the company page URL, the report date and job title, the exact statement at issue quoted, the order, the jurisdiction and case number, and your authority to act. Ghostedcheck does not adjudicate the underlying hiring dispute.
DMCA elements
A copyright notification should include the elements in 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
- A physical or electronic signature of the owner or authorized agent.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to locate it on Ghostedcheck (company page URL, report date, job title, quoted passage).
- Your address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act.
Until a designated agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office and an address is published, this list is the information Ghostedcheck needs. It is not a claim that 512(c) safe harbor already applies.
Company demands
Harsh opinions about a hiring process that follow the guidelines stay up. You may flag a public report that names a person, leaks confidential data, copies someone else’s work, or is about the wrong entity. A demand that a lawful first-hand account be removed because it is unflattering is not enough. Company names appear as nominative fair use — reporters identifying the employer they say they applied to — not as an affiliation.
Copy the package
Fill this in with your counsel. Do not add a reporter’s identity. Community flags still store only a reason code.
